It is almost palpable, this gap between the younger Mika who wrote those lines and the old man reading them, wondering when he has stopped being so good with words, recalling all those bittersweet memories... It is almost palpable and yet they're still the same person, just a little different, a little more weary.
The most heartbreaking for me was reading about Andy's death (because of an illness! I hate your muse for coming up with this plot 😭). I really enjoyed reading about how you imagined Mika's life, his very simple and discrete wedding, Isabella and her blue eyes, the little Michael and Mika's silence which lasted 2 days when he learned about his name, his eccentricity still alive and well (the colored jacket <3), devoting himself to the theater/opera (I'm not sure I understood the right thing because I was kinda lost with the translation haha but I'm thinking it's opera/musicals etc?) after he stopped working in the music industry... It was all very realistic and believable.
This story is heartwrenching and melancholic but it's also comforting, in a way (Mika does feel better and at peace after having read it, too). The ending makes everything better, knowing that he will join Andy soon, and reading the last line, "Con tutto l’amore del mondo, io, te." right after the beautiful ending you wrote gave me chills.
Your writing style has evolved so much by the way, in comparison to the older stories you wrote! The line "e il silenzio si era tramutato in un pianto di gioia" in particular caught my eyes (amongst others), and I have realised just now that it might actually be a good summary of this whole story; the silence of his room, the silence of his life now devoid of his family and friends, will soon be replaced by a cry of joy, because he will finally see again those he loves.
