capitolo 5 - ci ostacola il destino, Jon

Sono passati otto mesi e Jon e Stacey non si sono più rivisti, si sentono a malapena per lettere, pare che il loro amore sia tramontato.


Erano nelle vacanze estive, e ormai Jon si era laureato, mentre Stacey aveva finito il primo anno di belle arti.

Due mesi prima, aprile 1982, la madre di Jon morì, così decise di trasferirsi a Denver in Colorado; quindi a Stacey le lettere furono rispedite indietro perchè ormai la casa era stata venduta, ed ora era diventata una grande officina; Jon però continuò a scriverle alla casa a Los Angeles non sapendo che Stacey era andata a vivere per sempre da sola a New York dopo che la madre si fidanzò, e Stacey non volle avere a che fare nè della madre e neanche meno del fidanzato, lo stesso vale per la madre che non le spediva le lettere di Jon e le buttava apposta.

Stacey pensò che Jon l'avesse abbandonata per sempre, visto che a Pasqua non era andato da lei, come promesso in passato, ma era morta la madre, e lui le scrisse tutto nella lettera, pure l'indirizzo nuovo, ma come sapiamo le lettere ce le aveva la madre di Stacey.

Stacey si trovava davvero in un periodo di stress, decise allora di andare a Northfield a trovare Jon.

Povera lei, andò lì, viaggiando per molte ore, con la sua macchina, ma alla fine quando andò lì chiese all'uomo che ci lavorava se per caso sapesse dove si fosse trasferito Jon, egli però rispose che non ne aveva la più pallida idea.
All'uscita del negozio trovò la ex vicina di casa di Jon che le spiegò tutto.



Così Stacey si appuntò l'indirizzo di Jon a Denver e andò da lui.

Pioveva d'estate, dopo un po' iniziò addirittura a grandinare.

Forse era proprio destino che i due non si rincontrassero quel giorno, Stacey infatti sull'autostrada a causa del maltempo finì per andare in ospedale perchè fece un incidente, abbastanza grave da farle perdere i sensi.

Andò in coma per tre giorni, e dopo tre giorni riprese coscienza.

Quando si svegliò, trovò davanti a lei una persona con una faccia familiare, era Richard, il miglior amico di Jon, era un caso, o destino?

Lui non la conosceva, ma lei lo riconobbe, grazie alle foto che le faceva vedere Jon.

All'inizio, visto la confusione mentale in cui era, fece fatica a riconoscerlo, ma dopo mezz'ora, mentre parlava con lei, ella notò la scritta sul camice, il suo nome, Richard Sambora, e tutti i suoi ricordi riaffiorarono.

"Quindi signorina Stacey Miller, per quanto vedo lei è fortunatamente in ottima forma, però deve comunque stare sotto la nostra tutela per almeno altri cinque giorni.

"Come fra 5 giorni? Io ho tanto da fare, che giorno è oggi?" chiese Stacey cercando di riprendere coscienza.

"Domenica, 13 giugno, è rimasta in coma per tre giorni!"

"Dottor Richard, ora le spiego come è la situazione"

"no, no, senta, io parto già dal presupposto che la salute è prima di tutto.
"mi faccia parlare, io sono... la fidanzata di Jon Bongiovi, e la prego mi faccia uscire adesso"

"sei tu Stacey? Quella Stacey?" chiese lui sorridendo.

"In persona..."

"oddio, devo raccontarlo a Jon, a proposito, lo sai vero che ha cambiato casa?"

" l'ho appena saputo.."

"comunque Stacey, ti farò uscire fra minimo due giorni, di meno non posso, è il regolamento" rispose lui ovvio.

Da Jon invece:

"Romeo, verresti con me a New York, dopo domani? Facciamo le valige e andiamo da Stacey?" chiese impaziente Jon.

"va bene, Jon, come vuoi, ma sappilo, se non ti scrive vuol dire che non ti vuole più" gli disse stufo Romeo

"no, sono sicuro che ha delle scuse valide, magari non le è arrivata la lettera in cui dicevo che ci siamo trasferiti!" cercò di giustificarla.

"vedila come vuoi, ma io non voglio fare undici ore in macchina per niente"

"Romeo, sento che sia successo qualcosa e che abbia bisogno di me"

Dopo 2 giorni: Stacey uscì dall'ospedale di Wichita, che si trova in Kansas, prese un taxi ed andò a Denver.

Jon e Romeo invece, presero la macchina un'ora prima e si diressero verso New York!

Dopo cinque ore Stacey era a destinazione.

Jon e Romeo dopo cinque ore di viaggio, cioè quattro per Stacey, dato che era partita un'ora dopo, erano arrivati a Wichita, fortunatamente Jon doveva dare le chiavi di casa a Richard perchè aveva deciso di rimanere per sempre a New York.

Andò al terzo piano dell'ospedale, trovò Richard:

"Jon, sei arrivato in tempo, dovevo dirti una cosa"

"Richie, sono di fretta, devo darti le chiavi di casa e grazie per l'ospitalità, sei un vero amico, ma ho deciso di trasferirmi!"

"dove?" chiese Richie
"non ha importanza! addio, Richie! " - Se ne andò-

"ah, Jon.."

"no, Richie, non ho tempo" -disse scuotendo la testa senza guardarlo-

"si tratta di Stacey!"

Jon rallentò il passo e si girò verso di Richie:

"Stacey?"

"è stata qua cinque ore fa, era in coma!"

"Cosa?? e non me lo hai detto!" gli disse furioso.

"non sapevo che fosse lei, la Stacey di cui parli sempre!"

"e come hai fatto a capire che era lei?"

"è stata lei a riconoscermi! Ha fatto un incidente stradale, qua a Wichita, e ha ripreso coscienza dopo tre giorni!"

"aspetta, cosa ci faceva a Wichita? Oddio, Stacey ha letto la lettera ed è venuta a trovarmi, e ha fatto un incidente, è andata in coma per tre giorni e io sono ancora qua a parlare con te! Devo andare.
"Dove vai?

"torno a casa" -andò di corsa, aprì la macchina e salì-

"cambio destinazione torniamo a casa, Stacey è lì!"

"magari faresti meglio ad andare a New York visto che lei sarà già andata a Denver e non ci ha trovati e allora sarà tornata a casa, fidati, è meglio andare a New York"

"giusto, hai ragione, e poi ho già dato le chiavi a Richie!"

Dopo altre sette ore di viaggio Jon e Romeo erano a destinazione, ovviamente a casa non c'era nessuno allora decisero di aspettare alla porta, dopo mezz'ora andarono a cenare in un ristorante.

Jon e Romeo decisero di andare a visitare la città, dopo altre quattro ore tornarono a casa di Stacey, notarono che la luce di casa era accesa(all'interno), realizzarono che era arrivata:

suonarono alla porta, ella aprì:

Jon e Stacey si guardarono in faccia e subito si abbracciarono fortissimo.
