Error stava seduto sul trono mentre Reaper stava in piedi al suo fianco a guadarlo.

 

Finalmente si erano rincontrati dopo tutto quel tempo...

 

Reaper giurò a se stesso che per proteggere suo fratello da tutto quello che avesse potuto fargli dal male avrebbe anche sacrificato la sua stessa vita.

Quando nacquero tutto il popolo era lì a festeggiare.

 

Passarono sette anni.

 

Il re e la regina litigavano sempre.

 

Un giorno il re andò da Error e Reaper e afferrò quest'ultimo per il braccio.

 

"VIENI! CE NE ANDIAMO!" Disse infuriato

 

La regina prese il principe in braccio.

 

"Resta con me, Error." Disse

 

I due bambini scalciavano e si agitavano per cercare di liberarsi dalla presa dei genitori e abbracciarsi, ma non ci fu nulla da fare.

 

Il re trascinò Reaper in una carrozza per poi dire al cocchiere di partire.

 

La regina portò il principe nel castello.

Da quel giorno i due bambini crebbero vivendo lontani l'uno dall'altro.

 

Dopo molta fatica Reaper riuscì a farsi assumere come servo al castello.

 

Andò lì.

 

Quando entrò trovò Error ad aspettarlo.

 

Si abbassò il cappuccio e fece un piccolo inchino.

 

Il principe non riusciva a crederci.

 

Aveva gli occhi lucidi e il cuore che batteva a mille.

 

"Reaper!" Esclamò saltandogli addosso

I due caddero.

 

Le lacrime non smettevano di solcare il viso del principe.

 

Il servo lo abbracciò e poi lo guardò.

 

Gli asciugò le lacrime.

 

Entrambi sorrisero, felici di essersi rincontrati.

Un giorno Reaper stava tornando al castello dopo essere andato a fare la spesa al villaggio.

 

Improvvisamente una folata di vento gli fece volare via il cappello.

 

Una ragazza dai capelli verdi lo prese e glielo restituì.

 

Il servo la ringraziò e lei sorrise.

 

Era molto gentile e anche bellissima.

 

Reaper era sicuro di essersi innamorato a prima vista di lei.

Reaper andò nella stanza di Error e fece un piccolo inchino.

 

"Sì maestà? Cosa desidera?" Chiese

 

Il principe lo guardò e con tutta tranquillità gli disse:

 

"Distruggi tutto quanto il paese verde." 

 

Il servo sgranò leggermente lo sguardo.

 

"C-cosa?!" Chiese

 

"Mi hai sentito. E fai in modo che quella ragazza dai capelli verdi muoia." Rispose Error indicando una ragazza

 

Reaper guardò fuori dalla finestra per vedere chi stesse indicando.

 

Sentì le lacrime riempirgli gli occhi quando vide che doveva uccidere la ragazza che amava.

 

Abbassò lo sguardo e annuì uscendo dalla stanza.

Reaper diede fuoco al paese verde.

 

Trovò la ragazza e prese un pugnale.

 

La infilzò.

 

Le lacrime iniziarono a scorrergli sul viso mentre sussurrava un "Mi dispiace...".

 

La ragazza lo strinse a se con le sue ultime forze, come per consolarlo, per poi chiudere gli occhi per sempre.

 

Quando tornò al castello il servo entrò nella stanza del principe con un vassoio in mano.

 

Lo appoggiò su un tavolo.

 

"La merenda di oggi è una brioche, spero che le piaccia." Disse

 

Error sorrise.

Il principe guardava la folla dalla finestra.

 

Il popolo era stanco di essere governato e aveva fatto scoppiare una rivoluzione.

 

Il servo andò nella camera di Error e si mise i suoi vestiti.

 

Si avvicinò al principe e gli mise la sua tunica.

 

Error si girò e lo guardò.

 

Reaper lo abbracciò.

 

"Come and take my clothes this is the way that you can go

You shall wear them till you're gone and they won't ever know

It is fine, we're twins and I will be here when they strike

They won't know you are gone all because we look alike"

 

"Prendi i miei vestiti e scappa da qui. Non toglierteli finchè non sarai abbastanza lontano." Gli disse

 

"Ma poi cosa succederà?! Cosa succederà a te?!" Chiese Error guardandolo con gli occhi pieni di lacrime

 

"Non preoccuparti, è tutto a posto. Siamo gemelli, nessuno noterà la differenza. Solo...continua a sorridere." Rispose il servo

 

Lo abbracciò per un ultima volta.

 

Gli sussurrò qualcosa e poi lo spinse via dicendogli di andare.

 

Error lo guardò mentre le lacrime gli solcavano il volto e corse via.

Il servo andò nella stanza del principe.

 

Dopo qualche minuto arrivò Undyne e gli puntò la spada alla gola.

 

Reaper non fece resistenza quando gli mise le manette e lo portò in una cella.

Mentre aspettava l'ora della sua condanna, Reaper ricordò ai bei tempi in cui lui e suo fratello erano felici.

Almeno Error avrebbe vissuto in pace.

Quando arrivò l'ora della condanna Undyne lo scortò al patibolo.

 

Reaper guardò una persona incappucciata nella folla.

 

Stava piangendo.

 

Lui sorrise e disse:

 

"Oh! È l'ora della merenda!"

 

Vide fu suo fratello sorridere fra le lacrime.

 

Poi la lama si abbassò, spezzando la sua vita.

Error corse via mentre le lacrime continuavano a solcargli il volto.

 

In quel momento le parole di Reaper gli risuonavano nella testa:
