Il suo dito si muoveva timidamente sulla cute della mia mano delineando i contorni della figura incisa.
- Oh lei -
Ridacchiai fiero di quel tatuaggio pienamente riuscito, ripensando alla cura con la quale Zayn si era applicato per ogni minimo dettaglio pur la semplicità del soggetto.
- Questa è una rondine come puoi vedere -
Sospirai e mi morsi il labbro indeciso se fosse stato il caso di espormi così tanto ad un individuo che nemmeno sopportavo e se avessi potuto, l'avrei inserito nella categoria: "nemici/amici insopportabili/rompipalle".
- E' solo un tatuaggio -
Apparentemente giudicavo stupido ed immaturo Harry, ma sapevo perfettamente nel mio profondo, che purtroppo era un essere molto (troppo) intelligente.
E infatti non ci credette. Perché sapeva che sotto quel simbolo impresso come un marchio nella mia pelle, si nascondevano tutte le mie paure, i miei difetti. E soprattutto tutto ciò che lui e gli altri suoi amichetti non dovevano assolutamente scoprire di me, tutto quello che nascondevo da anni e che mai sarei riuscito ad esporre.

Tremavo. I brividi mi percorrevano da capo a piedi. Tenevo gli occhi chiusi tentando di concentrarmi, ma non ci riuscivo. Nella mia mente vedevo solo immagini sfuocate. Non volevo provare tutta quella paura, tutto quel panico. Avrebbero solo che peggiorato la situazione. Volevo solo entrare ed uscire avendocela fatta. Volevo dimostrare a tutti per la prima volta in tutta la mia vita che io, ce l'avrei fatta.
Volevo dimostrare che anche io, nella mia timidezza e riservatezza, avrei potuto realizzare il mio sogno. Il MIO. Volevo far vedere a coloro che mi hanno sempre derisa, caplestata, sputato in faccia infrangendo ogni possibilità sul fatto del mio minimo potenziale, che si sbagliavano. Volevo finalmente tirare fuori me stessa. Dovevo farlo. Non dovevo farmi abbattere anche sta volta. Non ero piu un uccello in gabbia. Cancellando il mio orribile passato di cui non mi voglio nemmeno soffermare a pensarci. Ero pronta, ero forte, ero Ashley Logan.
